The beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia, on foot too
The sea at Castiglione della Pescaia is among the most awarded in Tuscany, with a Blue Flag for many years. Here are the main beaches, including those you can reach on foot from the centre without taking the car.
The town beach, on the Via Roma seafront
The stretch of beach along the Via Roma pedestrian promenade is the most convenient: fine sand, a gently sloping seabed suitable for children, equipped lidos and stretches of free beach. It's a few steps from the houses in the centre.
Free beaches and beach clubs
In Castiglione you'll find both free beaches and beach clubs with umbrellas and services. Towards the mouth of the river Bruna and in the direction of Punta Ala there are long shores with wide free stretches, ideal for those seeking more space.
The most beautiful coves nearby
Just outside town, by car, you can reach some of the most striking beaches of the Maremma: the famous Cala Violina with its white sand (reached on foot from the car park, in the Bandite di Scarlino reserve) and the Spiaggia delle Rocchette, among rocks and pine woods.
On foot from the apartment
From our apartment on the Via Roma seafront the sea is just 10 metres away: from the courtyard you reach the beach directly without crossing busy roads. Ideal for enjoying the sea all day, even just for a quick dip.
